Meet the Founder
Dr. Joe Massey is at the heart of the Egg Donor Alliance. He is recognized as a global innovator and leader in the field of IVF.
Joe B Massey, M.D. has been a pioneer in the field of infertility since he first studied IVF in Australia the early 1980’s. He was involved in the first pregnancy in the world following assisted hatching in 1988 and ICSI in 1993. His clinical trials and co-authorship of a plethora of articles published in medical journals have culminated in co-founding Servy Massey Fertility Institute (SMFI), a low-cost, full-service fertility clinic in Georgia.
Dr. Massey attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia for undergraduate, as well as medical school. He then completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellowship in infertility at the University of Pennsylvania.
After serving in the US Navy, Dr. Massey entered private practice focusing on fertility treatment. In 1983, he co-founded Atlanta’s first infertility practice, Reproductive Biology Associates, where he practiced until 2006. Then Dr. Massey worked on perfecting a low cost approach to IVF to be able to help even more people build the family of their dreams, a vision he shared with Dr. Servy that led to the formation of Servy Massey Fertility Institute.
Dr. Massey is a former board member of Resolve and the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies.
